MP BACKS LOCAL COMPANY

South Gloucestershire businesses urged to "think strategically"

NORTHAVON MP Steve Webb gave his backing to a new management development company this week and urged local businesses to follow its lead.

Says Robert Cole, a director of Silvaager: "Steve Webb wanted to find out more about what we do and how it could help local businesses in his constituency. I explained how we help companies to change the way they think — and dramatically improve their profits."

"Simply by using strategy and innovation an organisation will have significant advantages against competitors and better results".

Mr Cole said in difficult times many organisations in South Gloucestershire would cut staff levels. "Instead they should be asking their staff for ideas and using these to make the company more successful," he explained.

"Steve Webb was very interested and supportive of what we are doing to help businesses in the area. Strategic thinking can be used right across the board — from small enterprises to major corporations — and even the House of Commons."

Said Steve Webb: "I am always delighted to welcome a new company which is taking chances and being enterprising. We need organisations to do more Strategic Thinking in South Gloucestershire. I was very pleased to meet Robert and interested to hear about the services he could offer to local businesses."

The original story seen by Steve Webb in the Bristol Monitor was placed by Sue Mackinnon of WRITE options; a professional journalist who has been helping Silvaager get more publicity in local papers and magazines. Sue also wrote this press release.
